Tax Credits - Elderly

Modified on Wed, 1 Mar, 2023 at 11:55 AM

Employees that turn 55 prior to the commencement of the tax year are eligible to receive a full elderly tax credit.

Care should, therefore, be taken in entering the dates of birth of employees. Proof of date of birth is available on the National ID card and on the birth certificate. Copies of these documents should be put on file.

The credit is automatically included in the tax calculation.  To check that the credit is coming through properly print and check the Tax Display for the employee.
