Tax Parameters
Ensure that the Tax tables, Elderly, Blind or Disabled Tax Credits, Loan and Vehicle benefit rates have been setup correctly. Also ensure that the correct 'Effective Date' has been set for the tax table. Also review the allocation of P6 Fields against each of the Transaction Codes that have been setup. To setup these parameters see 'Step 2' under this link.
Tax Effective Date
Check the Tax method being applied whether FDS Average, FDS Forecast or traditional PAYE. To setup these parameters see 'Step 3' under this link.
Period Setup
Ensure that the period information has been setup correctly. Check the number of periods, hours, days per period as well as the Start and end dates for these periods. For further information on how to setup and check the periods see the 'Pay Periods' topic heading under this link.
Employees
It is important to have the correct Dates of Birth entered for each employee. This is important for NSSA and for Tax where NSSA deductions stop at aged 65 and elderly credits apply from age 55. For more information on how to enter, or check, the dates of birth see this link.
Transaction Codes
It is important to ensure that each and every Transaction Code has been setup correctly. Each has an effect on the net amount paid to an employee, or is paid to third parties. For more information on how to enter, or check whether a Transaction Code has been correctly setup see this link.
