Commencement of Financial year

A payroll audit should be done at the commencement of each new tax year to ensure that all the payroll parameters are correctly updated from the outset.  This will ensure that:

  • tax and other computations are correctly made throughout the year
  • Transaction Codes are setup using the correct category
  • contributions to third parties, such as NSSA and NEC are correct.
  • there is compliance with internal policies eg. leave and overtime parameters.

Extracting payroll information for forensic audit purposes

There are a number of reports that are available to extract information that is useful to auditors.  These are found under the 'View', 'Exceptions' menu option.
