A 'Medical Aid' error displays when a calculation routine and the system sees that:
Situation 1 : Medical Aid member types have not been properly setup for member, spouse, dependent or child.
Situation 2: The Commencement Date in the employee master is set before the Effective Date of the medical aid scheme
Situation 1:
An employee has medical aid but the relevant Medical Aid member types have not been properly setup for member, spouse, dependent or child.
To correct this:
- Go to the 'Edit' then 'Medical Aid Schemes'
- Select the scheme and click 'Change'
- Click 'Insert' and enter the details for the type of member eg. 'Dependent <18'
- Re-run the Calculation Routine to ensure that the error message does not re-appear.
Situation 2:
The 'Commencement Date' in the Employee Master is set before the 'Effective Date' of the medical aid scheme.
To correct this:
- Go to the 'Edit' then 'Medical Aid Schemes'
- Select the scheme and click 'Change'
- Take note of the 'Effective Date' for the member type, then close the window
- Go to 'Edit' then 'Employee Master' menu options
- Select the employee and click 'Change'
- Click the 'HR' button,
- Select the 'Medical' tab
- Select each employee, one by one, and make sure the the 'Commencement Date' is on, or after, the 'Effective Date' for the member type of the specific medical aid scheme.
- Re-run the Calculation Routine to ensure that the error message does not re-appear.
