It is possible to export the Belina Payroll HR Transactions Journal to Pastel accounting software. To do so first set up the General Ledger Codes, then enter these against each Transaction Code. Once this is done go to the 'Utilities', 'Exports', 'Journal', then 'Pastel' menu options to do the export.
It is a simple procedure to export the Belina Payroll HR Transactions Journal to Pastel Accounting Software.
To do this:
Step 1 - Set up the key payroll General Ledger Accounts in Belina Payroll HR
Step 2 - Assign these General Ledger Accounts to each Transaction Code
Step 3 - Export the journal from Belina Payroll HR
Step 4 - Import the journal into Pastel
Step 1 - Set up the key payroll General Ledger Accounts in Belina Payroll HR
To do this:
- Go to the 'Edit' then 'G/Ledger' menu options
- Click on 'Insert'
- Enter the seven (7) digit G/Ledger code as it is in Pastel without the backslash eg. 1001222.
- Enter the 'Description' of the Pastel account
- Click 'Ok'
Step 2 - Assign these General Ledger Accounts to each Transaction Code
To do this:
- Go to the 'Edit' then 'Transaction codes' menu options
- Select the Transaction Code to which you would like to assign a G/Ledger Code
- Click 'Ok'
Step 3 - Export the journal from Belina Payroll HR
To do this:
- Go to the 'Utilities', 'Export', 'Journal' then 'Pastel' menu options
- Enter the 'Period' that you want to export.
- Where it says Version, tick 6 for version 6 or higher.
- Folder - browse for where you want to save your file from the payroll so you will be able to import when you are in pastel.
- Enter the Pastel 'Control Account'. This account will balance off your employer contributions eg Medical aid, NSSA, and NEC employer contributions.
- Select the 'Method' whether it is in a journal based on 'E/D' (Transaction Codes), 'Department' or 'Cost Centre'
- Click 'Ok'
Step 4 - Import the journal into Pastel
The steps in Pastel depend on the version of the software that you are using. In Pastel Partner 2007 the steps are:
- Go to 'Process', then 'Journals' menu options
- Select the batch type that you would like to use e.g. 'Payroll Journal'
- Click the 'Batch' button
- Select the 'Import' option from the mini menu
- Click the lookup button
- Browse for the file exported from Belina Payroll HR
- Your journal will automatically be imported and displayed.
- Check the journal.
- Update the batch
