To ensure that the system calculates the correct PAYE for an employee:
- the payroll tax settings need to be correct for this current tax year
- the Transaction Codes need to be set up correctly using the correct Transaction Category, whether they are taxable, or not, and whether they are recurring.
- the Employee Master record needs to have tax related information correctly entered.
Belina does an excellent job of calculating PAYE in payrolls where these parameters have been correctly set up.
To assist Users in the checking the PAYE calculation Belina has a 'Tax Display' facility which gives a complete step-by-step breakdown of the tax calculation.
It is important to check the calculation of PAYE to gain assurance that the settings have been correctly set up. This is especially important at the beginning of the tax year when new tax parameters have been entered.
