When you take a backup of the payroll the backup includes all data that has been processed since the first installation of the product.
HISTORY OF BACKUP
Despite the backup including all transactions processed to date, there is still a very strong requirement to maintain a history of backups taken at various points in processing for each payroll period.
A good method of backup is to save the backups for each payroll in separate folders. These folders will eventually contain a good history backup with several backups going back over time.
Ideally, you should keep all the backups from the beginning to the end of the year.
This means that if there is a problem with the loss of data, or a mistake has been made in processing then the backup can be restored without loss of too much time and effort.
LOCATION
Cloud-based backup options should be considered when storing backups, especially for each period end backup.
