A payroll that is no longer active can be marked as 'Dormant'.
Why mark a payroll Dormant?
- to prevent changes from being made to the payroll. No processing or editing of data can be done in a payroll marked 'Dormant' although it is possible to continue to preview and print reports.
- to stop the employees in the payroll from being counted as active employees in the user license.
- The user license counts the number of employees in active payrolls. If a payroll is no longer active it can given a 'Dormant' status which means that the employees will no longer be taken into account for license purposes.
Note: Once a payroll has been marked dormant that cannot be reversed without Belina support assistance. For more information on marking a payroll dormant: Dormanting a Payroll
