Leave - Years Service

Normal Leave

It is possible to have normal leave entitlements depend on the number of years service.  This is done using the NEC functionality in the payroll whether, or not, your employees are members of an NEC.

If NEC grades are being used in the organization an NEC grade is setup for each range of leave entitlements based on years service.   If NEC grades are not being used then one grade is setup with an appropriate description such as 'Leave Ranges' into which all the leave ranges are entered.  To do this: 

- Go to the 'Edit', 'Organizational', then 'Grades - NEC' menu options 

- Create an NEC grade by pressing 'Insert'

- Enter a Grade and Description and place a tick against 'Custom Working Conditions'

- Select the 'Leave' tab

- Press 'Insert' and enter the first range of number of service in the first range in the 'Years Service Up to' field, then

- Enter the number of days leave that applies to this range in the 'Leave Entitlement' field, then

- Press 'OK' to save this range.  

- If there  are subsequent ranges of entitlement to be entered press insert to add the ranges.

- When the ranges have been entered for the Grade press OK to save the NEC Grade.

Once the grade/s have been setup ensure each employee master record has the NEC grade with the leave ranges applicable to that employee.  This can be done employee by employee or can be done using a bulk routine.

Other Leave types

It is possible to have the other leave entitlements depend on the number of years service.  This is done as follows:

- Go to the 'Setup' then 'Other Leave' menu options

- If the leave type is already on the list, double-click it and put a tick on 'Base On Years Service'. If the leave type is NOT on the list click 'Insert', enter the details against 'Other Leave' and tick 'Base On Years Service'.

- Enter the bands of entitlement, the number of days range apply for the number of years service
