Use a 'Transaction Reference' where you need to store a value that is used in calculations elsewhere.

For example with an ordinary mileage allowance you store the value of the cost per km and process the number of kilometers traveled.  In the same way with a different scenario it could apply to any commodity where there is a number of cost.

Notice that there are two types of Transaction Code  'Other - Mileage' and 'Other - Mileage - Non Taxable' where the first is

It is not included in earnings or deductions or in the calculation of Net Paid or PAYE.  Other Transaction Code/s refer to the Transaction Reference value and calculate an amount that is included on the payslip.   In some instances clients would prefer that the Transaction Reference were not to be reported on payslips.  This can only be done by Belina Support staff using their Belina Support Menu.

See this link under the heading 'Other  - Transaction Reference' for further information.
