Transaction - Reference

Modified on Mon, 13 May at 11:39 AM

a 'Transaction Reference' is used to store a value which is used in calculating the value for another Transaction Code.  The value given to the Transaction Reference code is not reflected on the payslip.

Example

If there is a base allowance that is set with one group of employees receiving a percentage of that amount and another group receiving another percentage.   Enter the amount of the base allowance to be paid under a 'Transaction Reference' Code.  This is then used in the calculation the allowance that is paid to the employee, which may be a percentage of that base amount.

In this example set the base amount under the Transaction Reference Code (this could be set each period).  Then set the allowance percentage for each employee using an Allowance Transaction Code with the percentage set.

The payslip would show the Allowance Transaction Code with a value.  The payslip does not show the Transaction Reference code amount, nor does it have to show the percentage applied.
